just because some people choose to ignore the rule does not mean the rule is 'spotty or 'unstable'. the rule is actually quite clear.
Leave your phone/cameras locked in the safe. Take it out to the beach for a couple photos, Take it next door for some photos of the resort your family thinks you stayed at, Otherwise leave the &$%#* thing in your room!! You are on vacation, live in the moment and enjoy it for what it is!!
I completely agree. But people in the younger generation will not. And at this point it's pretty much a losing battle. People are on their phones connected every minute of every day. Leaving their phone is like leaving an appendage. Especially when they want to take pictures, and post constant messages to social media to let the world know they are having a good time and on vacation.
In 2014 several phones went in the pool during the week 8 shit show. I don't remember whom it was that threw them in, all I remember was they were taking pictures of his wife and someone else. I am ok personally with photos, just ask permission
Not trying to get the "great debate" started, and I don't believe you have been there in a little while... I have been twice since the remodel (I know that doesn't make me an authority on all weeks), but no exaggeration on my last trip 20% of people had phones in hand or in waterproof cases IN the pool. 40% of people had phones next to them at their chairs or next to them at the bar, and at night at bash these numbers were greatly increased. Throwing phones in the pool, or even just delivering phone police reminders (which a few of us did from time-to-time), would be a never ending job. It was easier to just be aware who and where those people were, and gravitate somewhere else. When the resort is supplying and promoting access to Wi-FI everywhere, you know times are changing and you're going to see something different from 10, or even just 5 years ago. It's a sad truth and reality.
Your right, we havent been since 2014. And your also right, its very sad that people are attached to their devices. I guess they are catering to a different crowd this time around. Its their business model, and if we dont like it, well we just dont go.....A sad truth and reality for sure. I wish they just had the wifi in the lobby.....just my thoughts of course. And never ScubaSteve, were all welcome to speak our part. I never take any offense to this stuff, were all human. Drinks at the pool one day bud, then we can debate till the cows come home on lots of good topics
I meant the great debate, as in the never ending phone and pictures at the pool debate. I'm right there with you on the phones at the pool. I turn my phone off as soon as the wheels go up, and it doesn't go back on until I'm back in Philly. I understand everyone can't do that though, especially with having certain jobs and/or family stuff. Wi-Fi in the lobby isn't a bad idea, but remember not everyone even needs wi-fi enabled if you don't have data limits and just stay on 4G. Also, people can just record and "post when connected to wi-fi", if they were concerned about usage or roaming. So there really isn't a technical solution around any of it. I just figure it's up to ones-self to be self aware of their surroundings. Other than that anymore, there isn't much people can do.
Back to the OP...lingerie night. Damn that's the best night isn't it??!! Last trip it even fell on my birthday. Too bad everyone destroyed me all day and I really had a hard time even making it to Bash (and it was very short lived )
Its one of my favorite nights too, I have a couple of nice pieces that you just dont get to wear anywhere else. And did you forget to have a nap?
