    Despite what my horoscope says :lol: , I will continue to diet so today's lunch was the last of my hamburger garden soup and some triscuits.

    Not sure about dinner....maybe a bit of pasta (all good things in moderation right??? :wink: ) and a salad with oil and vingear dressing.

    They're not bad, Denise.

    I skipped the pasta for supper and had a turkey sandwich on wheat and a bowl of mexican chicken taco soup. Not only is the soup good...but it's delish too. And it's the spot on a cold day/night like this.

    I'm Taurus and it's fairly accurate!

    My weekend was a total bust re: diet. This is due to Australia Day, moving house and having no willpower! :lol:

    I must tell you what I ate at the Italian I went to on Sat though - spinach & ricotta triangles deep-fried, and penne pasta with king prawns, chilli, tomato & garlic. DELICIOUS!

    I am now feeling huge!!

    I am a Virgo. I am the sign most obsessed with what I put in my body. Yep! the personal fitness trainer in me totally agrees with that statement. I do annoyed my family with that to as I'm always looking for the healthiest options. Do you guys have the smart foods in the USA. in Canada we have smart foods where all the good and healthy choices have a green arrow on the packages. Wheat thins my favorite fall into that catagory. Right now I'm down two pounds and working out hard to get 20 off before Cancun. Some of those 20 lbs being muscle(not so easy). My horoscope also says diet and exercise in moderation. My ideal of moderation is daily. I'm upping my aerobic to lose some muscle and thin out the thighs and waist.

    Todays Trainer's tip:

    Calculating your caloric intake:

    First you need your weight in( kg), height in (cm), and your age(years)
    Conversion from lbs to kg. Take weight in pounds and divide by 2.2 = kg
    Conversion from inches to cm multiply inches by 2.54 = cm
    Then put those numbers into this formula.

    655+ (9.6 x kg) + (1.8x cm) - (4.7 x age)= Basal metabollic rate or how many calories your body requires to run your brain, organs, and move blood while at rest. If your eating below this rate you are decreasing your metabollic rate by 45% and becoming good at storing fat.

    then take BMR x by activity level.(Be very honest)

    1.1 = sedentary
    1.3 =aerobic 1-2 times per week
    1.5 =aerobic 3-5 times per week
    1.7= recreational athlete
    1.9 = professional athlete.
    = maintainence calories.

    This will give you the caloric intake to maintain your current weight.
    From here reduce your caloric intake by 20-25% keeping in mind that your caloric intake cannot be below your BMR. Eat sensible and even record what you eat daily just to make yourself accountable. Stay away from white flour, enriched flour and processed foods and you will do awsome. Eat 5-6 small meals (300-350 calories) to keep your metabolism going and keep turning it on throughout the day. Stop eating 2-3 hours before bed. Everytime you eat your body has to digest and metabolism increases. Don't starve yourself, that won't get you where you want to go. diet is 70% of weight loss, exercise is the other 30%. put them together for the best results. Lift weights, increase muscle and burn more calories.Muscle burn 7 calories just being there, sorry fat is nothing. Okay so i made this sound easy it's not. It's work but, if you want it you can do it. GOOD LUCK! I'll join you in this too.
