    Thanks, Denise.

I have to admit I am really getting into this.

I always loved to cook but now I find myself looking at cookbooks and magazines for recipes that Ican take and make my own. Like my chicken soup recipe. I started out with Swanson's recipe and I added a bit of this a bit of that to make it may own.

Plus, I've ben trying to redo some recipes to make them diet friendly.

Did Curves tonight too and once gan had a good time. The "instructor" read us fact or crap cards and we had to decide if what she read us was fact or crap. made the 2 cycles go even quicker than usual.

I just can't wait to see, Dany. Or more importantly, I can't wait for Dany to see me.

I noticed last night I had to change notches on my belt...in a good way, of course!!!

I just have to make sure George and Debbie don't tell him since they arrive 2 days before me. But I'm sure they won't spoil my surprise.

    That sounds so good, apple.

I love pork and the pasta sounds yummy.

Did you have a hard time getting use to the whole wheat pasta? The only time I've ver had it I thought it tasted like cardboard.

    What brand do you use?

    Here's a great recipe site I found:

    www.tasteofhome.com

I bought their soup cookbook the other day and just love it. So I've been poking around the site and it has lots of great recipes.

umm no karan, i actaully really liked it the first time i had it. this one was actaully a better brand than the catelli im used to picking up. i think it was italpasta.

im actually a big advocate of alternative grain pasta which are easier to digest than regular wheat . i like the spelt or kamut pasta (which you can get at the health food stores or some grocery stores will carry it) im not a fan of the rice pasta as it has a different texture, and the wild rice pasta stinks to high heaven. i even had corn pasta once which was so tastey.

i shall poke around that link.

if you want my pasta sauce recipe i shall post that too. tis good!

    Please!!!

I hav one that my friend Laura gave me but it has a lot of sugar in it so naturally I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I usually just use a jar sauce but if you have an good recipe I'd love to try it.

ooo another dead simple one. i dont really have much measurments as i wing it (like alot of things) and theres no sugar in mine!

1 can of diced tomatoes ( whole tomatoes if youwant jsut smush or cut them up or you can use fresh tomatoes if youwant just blanch and peel them)

    1/2 can of tomato paste

    2 cloves of garlic

2 table spoons of olive oil

onion salt (1 small onion if you prefer i cant eat them so i dont use them)

    italian seasoning

    1 small bayleaf

    a few crushed chilli flakes

5 or 6 leaves of fresh basil

a good amount of fresh ground pepper (or regluar if you dotn have a grinder) and a pinch of salt

heat olive oil in sauce pan. add garlic and cook for a minute (dont let it go brown)

add tomatoes and tomato paste add all the spices but the basil.

allow to simmer over med/high heat for 20 mins then add basil

cook for another ten mins at least (longer if you want to stew down the tomatoes more but would leave out the basil until last ten minutes of cooking)

    serve over your favourite pasta

    makes about 4 servings
