Isla Mujeres is always a good bet. There is lots to do on the island if you get bored with where they take you. My kids have done the ATV tour with the zipline & Segway and loved it. The Xplore I hadn't heard of, so if you do it, post a review!
Yeah we def are doing a day or maybe two on Isla Mujeres because NO CARS and cruising around in a golf cart just sounds COOL. I do have a question about Isla Mujeres and drinking. Let's say me and my dad arrive on Isla Mujeres rent a golf cart or scooters and then go bar hoping, do we need to worry about drinking and driving. I don't see us getting totally wasted to where we would not be able to operate a golf cart/scooter but I just want to know what's in store. The last thing I want is policia trouble in Mexico.
XPlore is awesome! just be prepared for a day full of exercise (but it is well worth it!) meet at the xcaret base office next to riu cancun 30 minute before departure rather than getting picked up at your hotel an 1+hr early and sitting on the bus while picking up everyone else.
