Hi Jan13 - the Meridien project is a separate structure from the current Le Meridien hotel. For years I saw the property as vacant land where a former track & field looking thing was. Post wilma, construction started. everybody knows meridien is building on it but the question remains what it is - a sister resort or condos. Regardless, it is where the locals used to access the public beach so it's too bad it's being built on. And the sweet adobe townhouses next to CP are going to have this monolith between them and the beach.
