The AirTran part of the terminal is huge. More AirTran gates at ATL than I have seen at every other airport in total. 1:10 is short, but you should be fine.

We've done probably close to the same thing as you, except home. Layover in Atlanta on our way to Detriot. We had about the same amount of time if I remember right. However, we had to go through customs and had our luggage lost so we were delayed waiting on that because they kept saying it was coming. Plus our next flight was on the other side of the airport. Just take the tram thing to your next gate and then be sure to run just to be safe. We lucked out and the next flight was delayed. Of course we ran the whole way before we knew this lol. We still would have made it even if it wasn't delayed.

Ugh, layovers...yuck. We spend the little more and get direct flights out of New York. Makes things sooooooo much smoother. Don't hafta worry about first plane being late, etc...Whenever we've had to do a layover, we always tried to have at least 90 minutes between if possible. You never know what monkey wrenches will be thrown in and it's better to be prepared. Good luck!! I would hate for anyone to miss even 1 single solitary minute of TTR.
