We have been going 3 years in a row now and have average about 1150 usd per person per trip.... with a complete package (flight/hotel) for 8 days and 7 nights. Prices will vary a little depending on which air flight we choose with in the package offered and travel insurance . We fly out of Memphis and into a hub and then into Cancun (the first year was Atlanta, 2nd year was Charleston and this year will be Miami .) We try to get into Cancun no later than 1 pm. Which gets us to TTR by 2 pm easy. We try to Leave TTR to go home no early than 11 or 12 pm which allows us to eat before leaving. Always use USA Transfer. So over the last 3 years we have used different travel groups but kept our costs just about the same. Just buy early and shop , shop and shop... See ya'll in August... ps, does anyone knows off hand what the lobster dinner costs in TTR now... wife loves lobsters....
Yes, not liking the impact of the exchange rate. We booked our April trip on a referral and although it works out to $1360 American, it was $2000 with the exchange then add on flights and airport transfers. I think our October trip cost just under $2000 Canadian for flights, hotel and transfers. We are really trying to do an October trip, but we will have to see. Looking forward to our trip though
That is rough. I've just checked prices (for a week in November 2016). Including flights, we'd only be paying $83 more (total) per person than you're paying - and that's including a 10-hour flight across the Atlantic from the UK.
This summer will be the second year in a row we have done a houseboat rental with a group of friends we met at TTR. Lot's of fun. Fortunately, with the strength of the USD we haven't (yet) had to do as an alternate to TTR.

Good point...I just read the price and Kayak...and assumed it was for two people just for the hotel. Had tunnel vision (aka a couple of drinks, lol).
