I will miss Lalo and Omar so much and I have been filling in the questionnaires!! How could these people not be contributing to the life and soul of our holidays! A turn off over of staff is expected but not after 9 years working there! What is happening??... Why fix something that isn't broken! Our opinions may be reflected in a reduction of holidays to Temptation as you read how many people went just because these people were there! Miss you guys! Carly aka Josita
I like to think that I am in the 'younger/spring break type' category and I will miss the essential entertainment staff! These guys made everyone's holiday and I think it was a bad move to try and alter what is a successful and enjoyable holiday destination!
Considering what Premier has been doing to their members lately (reosts watch out premier members and 60,000 point) those who have left TTR are probably better off. Who ever is running the show there has no regard for members, staff or guests (unless they are trying to sell them an timeshare). Hope Chino Lalo and Omar move on to better resorts!
Okay - We've just arrived back home after a 2 week vaca at TTR. Lalo is still working at night time - taking people to the clubs. I saw Omar in Basic on Weds the 3rd sept and he told me that he'd been 'fired'. I asked him why and he just said 'The Company'.......... My Hubby and I had a long conversation with Lalo that night (they threw us out of Basic and turned the lights off LOL :lol: :lol and from what I can gather the company is making changes to the resort and is trying to attract new clientelle - this seemed evident as the pool games were no where near as raunchy as they used to be. I honestly think that this is why they've changed the RCI members points allowance for flights. Some friends of ours bought a time share last year and the sales people stated that they dont want repeaters cuz they cant sell to them - they want more fresh customers. Lalo told me that they company think Chinos's personality is more suited to Desire - HOWEVER Chinos did tell us that he would be back and was needed at Desire to train staff. Charlie by all accounts - came from Desire. Now at first I was really pissed bout the famous threesome not being there HOWEVER after spending 2 weeks there and getting to know the new guys - theyre ok. Mario is the 'funny guy' now and the new girls are doing well - they just need to learn the ropes. Charlie is a nice guy but he has a VERY strong Mexican accent which once you get used to - is just fine! Lalo did tell me that he did not want people to ask the company for him to come back cuz he would not under any circumstances but if you want my honest opinion, I think Lalo is still angry. I put on the 3 surveys I did in this 2 week trip (and I DO fill them out and have done every time I've been to BBG/TTR) that I missed lalo (most of all), chinos and omar and they were 50% of the reason we came back - the people that go to TTR are the OTHER 50% . You can never say never - but I really dont think that these 3 will be back - I just hope that Omar gets a job - when I asked him what he was gonna do he just said 'party' - which is fine for a bit but it wont pay the bills!! I wish them all the best for the future and will enjoy the memories we had with them!! Max xxxxx
Max Thanks for taking the time to clear the air. We appreciate the heads up, we will be there on Oct. 24 and feel that without the dynamics of the three (Lalo, Chinos and Omar) the atmosphere will be tamed. Just like you we always make it a point to fill out the survey with strong emphasis on naming the staff. The resort on its own is not that desirable to continue being a repeater. I wonder how far they are willing to push the envelope to get rid of all us members? Maida & Julio
It is such a shock to hear what has happened. I loved knowing that when you went there you would see those wonderful famliar faces and have a great time. But then T was not a famliar face and we came to know and love her greatly and can't wait to see her again. There will never be another Lalo, Chinos or Omar they are one of a kind and I wish them all the best. I love all three of them. I do hope that I will be able to contact them when we go to Cancun and maybe hit a club with one of them or all three. I agree that the new staff needs to be given a chance and am looking forward to meeting them. Just hope that they get some people that will stick around so that you get to know them and they you. Hopefully all the repeaters will be still coming back, I am upset that a comment was made that they don't want repeaters coming back as much as timeshare people. I can't afford a timeshare, but I can sure afford a vacation at least once a year at the resort and look forward to meeting all the wonderful people that Ihave met and looking forward to meeting even more. Temptation is 50% the people you meet, 50% the wonderful staff and the rest is the resort itself .... whoops there is no rest .... LOL guess that says it all. Just my humble opion.
Hey guys - sorry I should have clarified myself - as I interpreted what my friends were told - I think I 'the company' dont want the people who've already bought timeshares to keep going back cuz they cant sell anything else to them. They DO want the likes of us to go back cuz they might be able to get a sale out of us (yeah right - I aint rich!!!!!!). However at the end of the day - the RCI people will ALWAYS go back cuz thats the bloody reason they bought the thing in the first place!!! I hope that clears it up a bit more! Maxi xxxxx
Good to see you back Max. Thinking about it with my conspiracy hat on, perhaps they dont want repeat guests who dont own a timeshare either. After all, if someone has visited multiple times and not bought into their system already, they're not very likely to in the future.
