    My wife and I were curious if anyone knew what the guys on the beach were selling, they were shaped like and looked like a deep fried banana and he was yelling what sounds like KITTY KITTIES :shock: . He was selling them out of what looked like a glass aquarium.

    Sounds like kibis (not sure I spelled that right). They are a Yucatecan deep-fried meat thing. Vendors walk around selling them all over the place yelling keeeebeeees.

    Looked around and found many references to kibi as a Yucatecan dish with Lebanese/Syrian origins???

    They look dodgy but they're actually really tasty. They fill them with red onion.

    yes...kibbi is a traditional lebanese meat dish (my grandma uses lamb) made with burghul wheat. It is traditionally served uncooked.
