So I've been working my contacts like crazy today (so much for billable hours), and I've put some breathing space between Valentina and myself again...for the moment. Thank you to everyone who voted today!

Well, Valentina went on another one of her periodic tears this evening, and added 23 votes in 3 hours, and another vote for her shows up every 5 minutes. I'm going to bed before it gets any worse.

I'm running out of ideas to generate more votes. I might have to get into a bikini and set up a "boobies for votes" booth in the middle of downtown Vancouver :flash:.

 

I was determined to have fun with this contest and didn't want to believe that the voting process is not above-board, but it is hugely discouraging to have Valentina for the third or fourth time add 30 or more votes in 2-3 hours, sometimes in as little as 1.5 hours. It only happens when I build a significant lead. Suddenly votes start coming in for her like clockwork every 5 minutes until she has completely closed the gap. In the last 3 days there has been only a trickle of votes coming in for her between the avalanches, which suggests to me that she has already tapped all her sources of support. Perhaps it's not a coincidence that after I received the posts from the fellow defending TTR today that Valentina has finally taken the lead after me leading all the way up to now.

I'm going to think on it overnight and decide whether I even want to continue this thread. I'm feeling like I wasted everyone's time by asking people to spend even 2 minutes of their valuable time to vote. I'm embarrassed about that because every single person I have ever met at the resort from this site has been a person that I would be happy to count amongst my friends. Thank you to everyone that has supported me...it means a lot to me that you would go to bat for me knowing the way the contest works month after month. And I apologize that, between the raging ex-boyfriend and this whole voting discussion, I didn't keep the drama out of the thread like I promised I would.

Anyway, I'm rambling (I tend to do that), so this time I really am going to go to bed.

Have not been on here much since our trip in February, really missed some activity. Yes we voted for you, and regardless of the outcome, Karen you should be proud of yourself with how you conducted your part of the contest!
