I've no problem getting currency for the country I'm visiting, but in Cancun, so much stuff is quoted in dollars it is naive to turn up with only pesos, especially for the touristy stuff. When price of something is quoted in dollars, it's easier to simply pay in dollars, instead of having to work out what it should be in pesos to make sure you're not being ripped off, then what that is equivalent to in pounds, especially when the sellers are pushing for sales. Call me lazy, but putting a few dollars down as a tip instead of having to find somewhere to break the MXN$ notes down first is a better deal.
