The fact that a vibrant, varied, engaged community like the CCC forum here exists is a major indication of the quality of the resort TTR is. I don't know the stats for the site, but a shitty resort isn't going to have (at a random guess) 50+ posts a day on a not-affiliated 'fan-club' forum site is it? Nor would a singular-focus (i.e. pick-your-random-kink only) resort draw this kind of broad loyalty. As the others have said, there is enough going on, and enough opportunities for varied interests and varied levels of inhibition that you'd have to be really repressed to not find enjoyment at TTR.
I can understand the initial questions/concerns, but there really isn't anything to worry about. You took a chance, and I am pretty sure you will be very happy you did. My wife and I were the same way at first with concerns from reading trip advisor (we didn't know about this site existed before our 1st trip). Right after arrival we unpacked, hit the gym, showered/suits, and then went for lunch. The plan was to ease into it a bit, bar/quiet pool, then head over to the sexy pool. Yeah so that didn't happen. I saw the party at the sexy pool when we walked past. After lunch it was strait there, no easing in was necessary, and all concerns were blown out of the water in 5 minutes. It just kept getting better and better all week with the people we started to hang with. By the end of the week planning the next trip was in the works. Just to add another story from second trip. Right after arriving we unpacked, put suits on, defiantly skipped the gym(god only knows what I was thinking trip 1), and headed to the sexy pool. We had a Jacuzzi room next to the quiet pool, so we stopped at that bar to do a quick fill up for the walk, and see if Tiger was there(heard he was moved, bummer to find out he was let go). Anyway we meet a really nice couple who also just arrived and wasn't 100% feeling it yet. We ended up staying at that bar much longer than anticipated, giving hints, our perspective, and easing them in. I don't think they made it to the sexy pool that day, but a day or two later they started hanging at the sexy pool bar all day, and by the end of the week they were in the water all day. Pretty sure they will be back! For some it just takes some time to get comfortable, meeting some great people helps, then you fall right in. If you completely dislike parts, it is so easy to just hang at the more chill areas and do what you want. Temptation is great because you can make it however you want. (if you arrive on the foam party day, that could be a bit of a shocker. That's typically the craziest day. You just don't want to stereotype the whole resort and all the people based on that afternoon)
When friends are looking for a new vacation spot I always suggest Temptation, of course. Temptation invites you to step out of your comfort zone, but doesn't require you to in order to have an amazing vacation. The best suggestion I can make is for you to make a commitment to meet people every opportunity you have. The people are what separates TTR from any other destination.
We JUST got home from our first trip. I was nervous and unsure, but decided to try it anyway. My husband and I had a blast, met amazing people and can't wait to go back.
We also just got home (25-30 Oct was our trip dates) from our first trip to TTR. Let me give you the cliff notes from our trip. When we arrived late on the 25th we walked in to PATY'Os after checking into our room and were so new you could still smell the airport on us. We listened to the music and watched the people and wondered what the H.E. double toothpicks we had gotten ourselves into. :anon: We went to bed and got some rest from the trip down and thought maybe we had made a mistake. (fast forward through a bunch of stories) The 29th, our last night there, we were at that same table with about 6 other couples from all over the world who we will most likely be friends with forever. Long story short, you made the BEST decision ever.
if you can separate your choices from others, and be okay in yours while they make theirs, you'll be fine. We each have our comfort zones and limits. Every trip, we stretch the boundaries on our comfort zones, but not our personal limits. We can respect others, even if their limits are a long way away from ours. We have had some panicking on our trips, but it's all been good. We've met some great people, who we look forward to seeing again soon. We've been in situations we never imagined we'd be in, and we had a good time. I couldn't describe some of them without sounding terribly inappropriate in normal life, despite their events being quite tame and reasonable. I think M about lost it on our first day there, when one of these forum members, aka people who make the place so great, walked by and stopped us to say hello and spray tequila shots (hint of tequila & mostly sprite in a bottle) down our throats. Oh, the odd things that happen there... We wondered about it being a mistake, and sometimes we still do, but the crazy thing about every trip since the first--it felt like we returned home when we got there.

OK ... I Didn't make a Huge Mistake .... But the Best Decision of my Life!!! I absolutely Loved everything! Most especially - the People!!!! The very best holiday of our lives .... anyone want to babysit in Scotland so we can go back next week????
Can't believe we missed you, we went home on the 7th, we did a week to start, but like us you will now be hooked. looking to book visit 10 today for May.
