We arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule in Cancun. Since we had no bags to claim for our short weekend getaway, straight through immigration and on to customs. Both lines looked long but moved really fast. Once through we exited the airport to the shuttle area. Our transfers were with Lomas. We found Lomas to be extremely professional and on-time. Our ride from the airport was 15-20 minutes depending on the traffic.

When we arrived in the air conditioned lobby (around 2:30 pm) our room was ready. Check-in took about 5 min and we were on the way to the room to drop our stuff. N&K were already at the resort but their jacuzzi suite was not ready. We all changed in our room and headed for the buffet for a late lunch.

Bobby had a burger (very good is his opinion) and sampled the buffet. Cream of carrot soup was tasty. All in all we found the buffet food above average at each meal service. The waitstaff was very accommodating and prompt with beverage service. The key feature we enjoyed was eating in the A/C with views of the Sexy Pool and the ocean. You do have to wear a coverup in the buffet.

Friday afternoon in the Sexy Pool was pretty low key. You could tell folks were tired and at the end of a trip. We met some nice people and had a lot of drinks. We taught the bar team to make woo woos and shared them with new friends. Of course we toasted "to whores" and a good time was shared by all. The crowd was very diverse - young to mature, singles and couples, small and large. No one would feel "uncomfortable" here. :)

We headed back to the rooms early to get ready for dinner. We were not on resort early enough to make reservations but thought we would just try to get into the Italian restaurant. It took same fast talking by Bobby but we got in and it was soooo worth it. Excellent meal in a beautiful environment. The menu is pretty large for a resort specialty restaurant. We went by the others and all of the menus are large.

We hung out at the Paty O Bar after dinner. Music, drinks and more new friends. A late night walk on the super soft beach capped our evening. Saturday morning buffet for breakfast. Nice selections. Cook to order station moves so quickly. I have never seen someone making fried eggs, 2 omelettes and waffles - all at the same time. Expert multi-taskers.

Out to the pool. This is where things get a bit fuzzy for one of us. Bobby really got his drink on and kept it on ALL day. The only thing he didn't keep on was his pants. It was really hard to keep that drunk man in his trunks. :).

Positives on the pool: Lively crowd, crazy college peeps keep it interesting. Several cans of whipahol were passed around for our licking pleasure. We saw body shots pool side. The games conducted by the entertainment staff seemed well received. The pool was very clean and plenty of room for all. Bar service at the pool was fast and never ran out of liquor. Fellow guests were always willing to participate in shots and bring some back in return. There is waitstaff roaming the pool deck. They will bring you drinks and even refill your personal mug or cup. There is also a swim up bar if you prefer to get your own. The bathrooms are right there-so close. The restrooms have an attendant maintaining them throughout the day. There are "real" towels to dry your hands.

Negatives on the pool: Wearing swimsuit bottoms and no public sex (if that's your thing).

So I got Bobby back to the room for some rest before dinner. We went to the buffet for so that we could report back. Each evening the buffet is transformed according to the theme night. We peeked in on Friday night and there seemed to be some sort of Roman theme with sheer fabric suspended from the ceiling and beds with pillow piles on the floor. Saturday looked like drive in: large screen with black and white photography and waitstaff on roller skates. Food was good. Selections for every taste: beef, veal, chicken, fish and pork. All well labeled. Big salad bar, table side lettuce wraps, large dessert selection which included the normal tarts, mousses & cakes plus ice cream and crepes. The cook to order area was preparing grilled shrimp and ribs. Chips and salsa bar are available at every meal. There is also bar service in the buffet at every meal.

We retired early due to our departure on Sunday. Seems that we missed an exciting channel 12 (wink, wink) party at the all night pool. I guess certain things happens, it's just not out in the open.

The rooms have nice tile floors, flat screen tvs, mini fridge and safe. The water at the resort is drinkable as the whole resort is on a purification system. The tiled showers are large and clean. The toiletries in the room (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and face soap) were nice quality and individual bottles, not a dispenser. The property is well maintained. There seems to be a large crew working and cleaning the resort at all times. The wi-fi signal was strong in our room which was a good distance from the main lobby. Wi-fi costs $10 per hour or $15 per day or $79.95 per week.

We had a massive balcony. The balcony was shared by two rooms, ours and one other. Seems like a good party spot for the group (seriously that big).

We saw a lot of tiny swimsuits and speedos. The letter of the law was followed but sometimes concealed absolutely nothing. We saw one girl in a white lace thong as her bottoms. Some women didn't take off their tops but a lot did. The crowd makes all the difference, which we saw with the changeover between Fri and Sat. I think Bobby is ready to thong shop. :)

The city of Cancun itself is an exciting resort town. Lots of clubs within a 10 min cab ride. The airport was big and modern as well.

We had a good time and we are looking forward to the group trip next year.
