The water at the resort tastes fine...I drink a gallon a day out of the sink in the room. My favorite theory on the water making people sick...is when I hear a guy who drank nonstop in the sun all day, then closed up Paty'Os...and feels like crap because he brushed his teeth with water from the sink.

I drank water at the restaurants and bars and didn't have a problem. I have a very sensitive digestive system too, so that's got to tell you something!

Man thanks for all the advice. We will for sure get some more info about this probiotics and only drink bottled water to be safe. We already bought our orange bubba mugs and will be sure to drink plenty of liquid out of them. Lol. As far as drinking all day in the sun and closing down paty o's if we do get sick I'm sure it will be the waters fault.

Don't forget a little dish soap for the mugs!

Hubby started taking Dukoral about 3 vacations ago. He gets ill in every country. Since he started doing that, no more trouble.

We tip for extra water and take it with us too. Nothing wrong with the water, I just like the ease of hauling the bottle. We also buy a smaller size bottle or two after customs so that we don't have to haul the 1.5 litre monster everywhere.

Don't take too much Pepto - it turns your tongue greenish/brown for weeks after. Don't ask how I know this.

If there's an illness on vacation, I will get it, and I've never had an issue w the water at TTR. Or the cups plates etc. I'd say don't worry abt it.

I find it fascinating that you guys believe that the hygiene standards in a Mexican water bottling facility are higher than the filtration standards in a resort.

The way I'm looking at it is that your going to be drinking the water in the resort whether you like it or not. the vegetables need to be washed and your probably going to drink something with ice in it etc.

I think that you're about 100x more likely to get sick from the booze than from the water and yet nobody is talking about avoiding the booze.
