I think ME is a little nicer, mainly because it's new. Those pictures are probably from the more nicer rooms at Gran Caribe Real. Check out the Trip Advisor reviews, you can find the candid traveler photos there (where I got the pictures from). That should give you an idea of the spectrum of the rooms at any given hotel.
I'd check out the gran caribe. I stayed at the oasis for spring break and just didnt feel like it was a good value for my money. Is there a price difference between the two?

Man, it would really suck if Gran Caribe Real is filled with families. And on the other hand, Oasis has failed me twice... maybe I just got very unlucky?
