We (9 boys and girls) are going to be in Cancun 7/28 - 8/4. Anyone going to be there around that time? How close is Oasis Cancun to the Royal Mayan? Can we just stroll up to the Oasis Cancun and hang out and order drinks (which we would, of course, pay for) without having a bracelet? Where exactly is the party zone? Where would we take the bus to to be in the middle of the most clubs, bars and restaurants? A lot of questions I know, but you guys seem to be the experts! Thanks!
I believe there is one (1) resort between the Royal Mayan and the Oasis Cancun. You can walk down the beach. There are bars on the beach where you can purchase drinks without having a bracelet. The Royal Mayan has the best happy hour in Cancun. The pool bar starts happy hour at 3:00 p.m. and the palapa bar starts around 5 and lasts until 7. half price drinks on all domestic beers and drinks. I've spent many an afternoon at the Royal Mayan.

I hung out at the Mayan pool in 2004 (I stayed at the Royal Caribbean but their pool was kinda dead) and remember there being a happy hour maybe more than once a day at the pool bar. They would ring a bell and we would all jump into the pool to get drinks. Hope they still have that bell. LOL!
I usually travel that week, but we decided to go earlier this time around. Can't wait to be in that amazing blue water again.
