I think you would do well in entertainment like Tori said. Entertainment pays decent, $8000 $12,000 a month on average. But with that, you get to live on the resort, have all of your meals on the resort for free and you dont have any bills at all,phone, internet, cable.... So, that is all disposable income!! Definitely more then I could spend with my job back in Canada! But, again, with the new laws, you will need to get your work permit back in the USA and that will take at least a couple months....
Sadly, true. The delay will not be at the embassy or consulate abroad, but here, in Mexico, getting INM to act on the decision to permit hiring a foreigner. Once they do the visa can be issued in a day or two. At least one other poster had a bad experience at exactly this stage, in which INM, Cancun, took ages to issue their approval. Your experience could be better (certainly hope so).
