In my opinion (which is again just an opinion please be respectful) is that what Jen&Kyle are doing by reassuring members, is a thoughtful gesture on their behalf. They can simply enjoy their trip without accommodating to us, and for that, I say thank you. However, (AGAIN OPINION BE NICE!) after a video chat with some friends who are currently at the resort, they appeared slightly upset. They are Premier members of Temptation Resort and they know how to have a good time (always happy, positive vibe, never complaining) and when I saw the look on their faces I knew something was up. - side note~~~ They have been to Temptation EVERY year and love the vibe. They told me that when they arrived they didn't get their original beach view room, they were downgraded for 2 nights and their room had only crazy hot water which made it impossible to shower. Jen&Kyle, I ask you this, is it not wise to create a warm experience for a soft opening, regardless of small inconvenience such as construction and such? Shouldn't the owner test the waters or ensure they have enough rooms? We are in 2017 and these things still happen? You two are having quite the "experience" with your "upgrade" room and "personal" Buttler. I understand that people are complaining about silly things that have nothing to do with the experience (noise, entertainment blah blah blah) but when we land and we receive the same accommodation (downgrade) and only hot water, would you be willing to switch rooms? I am not bashing or hating on you guys, absolutely not! BUT, given the example where you and your loved one spent hard-earned money (I mean that in the most respectful way because some people do work very hard in order to enjoy 1 week off from 365 days) and are downgraded to a room with only hot water... what would you do in that situation? Can you provide some advice to the individuals who will arrive in these experiences? I know that my partner and I are going to have the best experience ever (happiness comes from within). But if we are to pay top dollar for a resort that can't provide the basics of necessities (For heavens sakes, a hostel even has these things) shouldn't we be reimbursed to some degree? Because it quite frankly sounds like robbery when you don't get what you pay for. This post most likely won't be read or replied to (maybe even deleted) but the Temptation was a good family, they kept us warm and happy and to the least bit satisfied. Is this truly how they want us to remember our stay? You honestly can't stop all workers from building unnecessary walls or status and focus on the plumbing? Thank you for your posts and photos, it is nice to see that you are having a good time and it would be great to experience the same vibe.
There is a simple solution to the downgrade: Ask for the difference in price between the rooms for the days you were downgraded. Is the resort being amenable towards a rebate? The resort actually looks pretty nice now after it gets past its hiccups. We are looking to book something in the tower but I can't tell what those rooms look like compared to the regular rooms that were upgraded. Does anyone have pictures of the various tower rooms and how they look? Someone posted on the Facebook group that there is "no difference between the rooms" in the tower and the older upgraded rooms. It would be nice to see if there was confirmation of that statement.
Great job on this thread. Its really appreciated! It really helps to show the changes in the resort. Without those pictures, we really don't appreciate the changes that have occurred. Keep them coming if you have others! I hope others can start posting threads as well showing their experience at the new TTR shortly.
Yes the tower rooms are the exact same just a little bigger. The only difference is I think the TV might be a couple inches bigger and they have 2 sinks. I just walked through them yesterday. We actually walked upstairs last night at midnight to check things out and the very 2 top floors none of the rooms are completed yet, a ways to go on them. Of course the rooftop not even close either. I'm making the beat out of this trip are there some inconveniences yes but it is still 10000 times better than having no Temptation and especially way better than that shit hole oasis sens. Do I think they will even be completely done by the Grand Opening in the middle of October No but that is only my opinion. One more note. Where nice shoes was and the sports bar was is not complete yet. They ripped out the wall between the two rooms and now it will just be 1 big room for the sports bar. All shows are outside now at Bash which is nice cause I like enjoying the warm weather but I have no idea what they are gonna do when it rains
I think the thing you have to take into consideration is that the TTR renovation was an very ambitious project done in an extremely short period of time.. If this was the US, they probably would have been delayed for several months due to zoning and permit sanfus.. That said, if you booked TTR for week one of their opening, and weren't aware that there was likely going to be several bugs that needed to be worked out before things started running smoothly, you weren't being honest with yourself. We booked for April 2018 and not any sooner because 1, we love going in April, but 2 it gives them more than enogh time to get things right. Early adopters get the upside of seeing things first, but also should be ok with the fact that they arent getting an evolved, finished product. Every problem we are hearing about the resort is exactly what we thought we were going to hear on week one last year when they announced the project. We are just glad to hear the concept hasn't changed much. All of the room and accommodation issues will be worked out over time.
Sooo love the pics! Thank you so much for posting for all us who are excited about the new and improved TTR! 2 more days for JC and I..... counting down the seconds.
I think that might work if you book directly with the resort, but a lot of people (myself included) book through third party travel sites. I'm not sure how amenable the resort is going to be to negotiation on things purchased through third parties.
