The North shore beach is a must, clear and clean as far as you can see, no moss, fairly calm always.. and there's a bar and massage tables there too! Zip line over the water out the the tower off the cliff and back to the shore is awesome too.
snorkeling at avalon reef hotel ... ... had a nice experience (back in dec 2011) ... snorkeling at the AVALON REEF Hotel .... it's located on a little islands at the very north-eastern shore ... snorkel right off the bridge ... it's brilliant. we could rent some diving goggles at the car-park attendent who is just sitting on the other side of the brigde ... we had been alone in the basin ... a lot of fishes ... and it's for free! ps. thinking to do the garrafon november next .. (any input/feedback appreciated) cheers / sharkies
Ok... Help me out here... Been to Cancun several times always think we are going to the isla but it's just difficult leaving the resort with sand gravity and drinks flowing etc... Is it really worth the trip over ? How long does it take to cover the island on the golf cart ? I've watched the youtube videos on the island... The beach's do look nice but not sure they look any nicer than the one we would be sitting on back at the resort... Help us not be so negative...and lazy....:baby2:
we walked down to the double deck fairy, jumped on, in about 15 minutes your there, a little trip across the clear water itself is cool. Grabbed a beer and shot at the dock bar, rented a two person scooter moped ran all over the island in about 2 hours with my baby close to me, did a really cool zip line on the west side of the island. took a swim at the north shore another shot and beer at the open bar, turned in the moped...whole thing maybe 4 or 5 hours, back at TTR for another moheeto.. it was not a structured excursion is what we liked..
MikenSheri pretty much covered it but I don't necessarily go there for the beach. I go for the food, sights, and people. Its soooo neat to drive a golf cart through the 3-4 mile island. To see how different sides of the island could look sooo very different! There is something just so serene and tranquil about playa norte. We always do that the last hour or two before we return home.
Thank You MikeNSheri and Hammie for your info and views on the isla... Helps a bunch.... MikeNSheri so did you guys just wear your swimsuits over or took them and changed? Sam...
We took the fairy over then rented a golf cart. We brought a couple water bottles full of vodka bought a couple sodas on the island and just cruised around the island all day stopping at beaches and drinking the whole time. Great fun! Sorry I can't recall the names of any of the exact places for drinks and food but most of them are all within the same end of the island. I do recomend getting a golf cart and exploring. You can zip line over the water along the way too. Have fun!!
