Is Temptation trying to become Breathless???

FYI... Breathless not only allowed bubba mugs, they actually sold them in their gift shop.

As I said in my OP, we actually liked Breathless and left thinking it was clear after seeing it that TTR definitely needed a face lift.

That said, our entire group, and everyone we met there that had been to temptation all agreed that TTR hands down had the better all around vibe. We all would have gladly left our posh, classy rooms at Breathless to be at the old TTR!

 

If you could charge like the upper end resorts, who could blame them.

 

I absolutely believe TTR is wanting a slice of the Breathless demographic. Can you blame them? The Breathless Riviera location may have only been open a year, but the other resorts in the chain are older. The concept is the same across them all, and strikingly similar to all the promo / room design etc. that the new TTR is looking to be. TTR isn't just competing with other Cancun hotels, they're competing with all adult-only all inclusives offering sun, sex and party. The difference is that TTR already has a reputation, which is actually a huge selling point if you ask me. I bet Breathless would love to have its clientele topless at the pool, partying at night and the anything goes attitude, but you can't force people to act a certain way. At TTR it's already been done - you'd probably have a harder time forcing girls to keep their tops on! The old vibe will never die. How many times have we heard from first time visitors who weren't sure whether they'd like the place, not sure if they'd be comfortable topless etc. then 5 minutes in the Sexy Pool they're doing body shots and the top is left in the beach bag? That will never change.

The rest depends on what rules they enforce I guess. I've wondered if they'll shut down the bars earlier. Maybe the day entertainment will change. A few years ago I was sleeping off a hangover at the Quiet Pool and overheard some 20-something rich kids over there complaining about how they couldn't be by the Sexy Pool because the games were gross and making them uncomfortable.

We day passed to breathless from Desire RM it was nice but very boring we didn't stay long nothing like Temptation and me and my friend were the only 2 women topless!!

 

Temptation knows who's paying the bills, they are putting a naked woman painting in the new pool for gods sake lol. Sure there will be some tiny changes here and there, but they know there atmosphere is still a great selling point.

 

Based on the different Breathless reviews I've read... if TTR goes in that direction.... people won't go and their profit margin will drop and the room rates will drop. There is already too many of the LV-style nonsense out there, and Cancun can't do it as well as Vegas.

And... Vegas could possibly be cheaper, maybe.

 

I think all there trying to do is bring the resort up to standards that today's travelers expect and make the property competitive in the market for today and into the future.

We all love the old Temptations but it was getting pretty long in the tooth and severely needed updating all the way around.
