I have never heard of anyone being forced to take it. They offer it as an upgrade and about half take it. The other stay at TTR. .we were offered twice and decided not to take it and it wasn't a problem.
Never offered a bump...we pay for the experience! If the daytime party is why you go to TTR, then Desire (only been to RM) may not be for you. But TTR cannot beat the air conditioned disco and the crowd at the hot tub before and after. The late night pizza and BLTs are on par with the burgers at TTR. Better rooms and restaurants blah, blah, blah... We love both resorts and will continue to split our time between the two...I don't want to give either up! Oh, like TTR, the music at the disco stops at about 2am and that's when people head to the hot tub for more sexy fun! No one goes nighty night at 1am unless they want to! (Mrs.) Dreamers
Thank goodness, I was getting a bit worried... I'm sure the other resort is great, and we may check it out down the road someday, but damn, if I got forced to another resort, any resort, I would be heartbroken
It's never come up when we've been there...but friends of ours said they put up a sign at the front desk asking for volunteers to move to Desire for a night or two. The couple saw the sign...talked it over...decided to take the bump...but the offer was off the table before they got back to the desk. You may be offered the option, but you won't be forced to move.
We got ask a couple of years ago if we wanted to go to Desire that was in the sept we just said no as we was meeting friends at TTR
NOT TRUE ON OUR 15 STAY WE WERE BUMPED TO THE GP FOR ONE NIGHT NO OPTION WE STAYED IN A FRIENDS ROOM THAT NIGHT. THEY WERE PISSED THEY PAID FOR A ROOM AT THE GP AND WE NEVER CHECKED IN
never been bumbed. But I have seen the lobby full of people looking for rooms cause of flights being cancelled due to weather. and late arrivals will due the same. that would cause overbooking. they wont tell you to sleep on the streets. check your flight before you leave the resort. I could handle being stranded at Desire rm better then sleeping in the airport.
sometimes they try and bribe to GP , with 3 free nights/days on your next TTR stay They seem to be blocking reservations this year for April even thought only the week ends are sold out . In previous years at this point people were still getting rooms even thought the resort was sold out. Maybe they upgraded their computers ???
