Please dont confuse patriotism with approval of the Gov't and the policies past and present. In our founding documents from the declaration of independance, federalist papers to our constitution you will see that skepticism and a lack of trust in our politicians is crucial. Unfortunately we stopped paying attention to what they have been doing and they have screwed us.:bash::aktion034: In the intrests of full disclosure I am not talking about the dems or GOP. They are the same in their ability to screw the people.
Not sure if you are aware His antlers are actually camoflauged (spelling again), guns; anti-decoy AK-48's (one better than an AK-47...lol)
Now let's not pick on the Canadians. Bob and his fellow Labatt and Molson drinkers live close enough to me to throw snowballs into my yard so we have to be nice to them. The reality is that almost every time the US has gone off to war and some other "police" action, the Canadians have been right beside us, and sometimes ahead of us. For example, the Canadian contingent in Afghanistan is pretty darn large and they have also suffered their share of casualties. Also, if you want to see some real world class cities, head north of the border. Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, and even Regina are really nice cities that many of our US cities should try to emulate. Now Moose Jaw is another story, but the other ones are pretty darn nice towns.
I have been to Montreal many many times, I just wish i could remember it, damn I love that city, my cancun north lol
The ballooning national debt and irresponsible politicians that wastefully spend our money like the preverbial drunken sailor drives me nuts! No doubt rich social welfare programs may work and be very popular part of society in other Countries, that's fine, its their choice. But from the American perspective, it doesn't fit with traditional & perhaps unique American principles of innovation, self-reliance, free enterprise, and capitalism. Here's an exellent editorial: "a dandy thought for those who look longingly at Europe's rich social welfare programs, efficient public transportation and teeny carbon footprints. But most Americans will chafe at giving up their personal choices and elbow room to make Euro-socialism work here. The Nanny State is anathema to our natural individualism. But once government takes over the care and feeding of its citizens, nothing is beyond its reach. France and Denmark, for example, claim veto power over baby names. A people conditioned to view the government as the dominant force in their universe accepts any government intrusion....In Europe, government spending is equal to 40-50 percent of gross domestic product, compared to 28 percent in the United States, and top tax rates reach 60 percent. That's why Europeans don't knock themselves out earning money. Productivity gains in Western Europe are half the U.S. average, while unemployment averages twice our rate." From The Detroit News: http://www.detnews.com/article/20100325/OPINION03/3250337/1008/opinion01/Editorial--Nanny-state-will-turn-U.S.-into-Europe#ixzz0jDALYpMn
so how do the 40 million or so people who live in abject poverty fit in to these american principles of capitalism and self reliance, or are they just binned and left by the side of the road. survival of the fittest right ... true capitalism at work.
