Just checked the CDC website about travel. Don't go to China, Japan , S Korea, Italy. Avoid cruise ships especially if elderly. That's it. If that changes to include Mexico or USA travel then we will change plans.
If that happens, You don’t have anything to worry about, because the travel plans will be changed for you
Not trying to be too flippant about his, but haven't like 19 of the 26 deaths all come from the same Nursing Home? It seems like we are being fed the panic, by people who have a reason to want us to panic.
It is never time to panic. The data set doesn't contain the nursing home ( it was 20 days ago). We aren't testing people fast enough and know there are more symptomatic people out there that have not been confirmed. There is an underestimation of cases that will cause an overestimate of deaths. But the second problem is, as the number of cases starts to slow down to the containment response, fatalities will climb faster than cases (because they were infected when the epidemic was growing faster). The under reporting and delay in fatality response could overtime cancel each other out. Its a small dataset, not yet mature enough. I want to take his model and run it again in a few weeks.
Yea, People live in nursing homes. Are you more worried about yourself? Because if you get sick you’re likely to spread it to 4 people. This means the likelihood of anyone high risk will catch it and probably not go well. That’s why it’s also important for you to try and avoid getting sick.
I live in a pretty rural area in Illinois. Haven’t heard of anything even remotely close to us at his point.
