We are booked for the end of June through July 2nd. Hoping this is all done and over by then! As of right now we are keeping our plans.
Has anyone asked to re-book in 2021? We may well have trouble finding time to re-book in 2020. I am concerned, as the resort's FB announcement says that you have to re-book to stay by Dec 23. If we face losing our money if we can't do a stay before Dec 23, we may have to randomly choose fall dates and if we can't make them work, we will pay the change fee to book our April trip with the credit. If this is how we have to proceed, I am going to book Halloween week, since I've always wanted to go to the resort then.
I believe you have to rebook by December 23, not stay by December 23. If my understanding is incorrect please let me know!
we were given resort credit that expires 1 year from the date of our original stay start date. There was no other criteria that I saw.
Not sure how helpful this post will be, but my wife and I have just returned last Tuesday (3/10/20) from St. Martin where we spent a week on the beaches of both the Dutch and the French side, including three full days on the clothing-optional beach Orient. We returned to the states just in the nick of time, because the governments on St. Martin have now imposed travel restrictions back to the states and multiple flights are being cancelled. People we know from North America are having a horrible time trying to find a way back, and may be stuck on that island until early April. In fact, I believe my wife and I caught the last Jet Blue flight out of there through Ft. Lauderdale airport. So, I would strongly recommend rebooking until this corona virus pandemic is a thing of the past. If you have kids at home or pets that are being boarded and you can't get back that would be quite an issue not to mention time you might miss away from work. When rebooking, I might also re-think September as a target month. Although hurricanes don't really strike the Yucatan Peninsula as frequently as the West Indies, there have nine hurricanes that have struck the coast there since 1955 during a 60-day span from mid-August to Mid-October. So, if you must go in September you'll be right in that window and I would advise adding trip insurance to your plans. My wife and I have visited Playa del Carmen and Tulum in the past in November, and the weather was great both times and at the back end of hurricane season. Just a thought.
All bars and pubs closed in Ireland for a minimum of two weeks. Hotels in spain had a 2% occupancy rate over the weekend so they will all be closed within a day or two. I don't think any of us are going anywhere for a few months!!! stay safe and be sensible people!
After tonight in my state, all bars/pubs, gyms recreational businesses and some dine in only restaurants are closed
Yeah, we know all the new information now and it's a bummer. Seems like more and more local businesses are shutting its doors too. I think we'll reschedule for Dec. . I'm soooooo in need of some sun, tequila and pool time. Anyone else thinking about Dec?
