Considering that I'm sure about 98% guest are completely happy with him. I think you might be the one that is rude. Not funny??? Come on now. It is nite and day difference when he is on the mic compared to anyone else that has to fill in. He has knack for it. Maybe he doesn't appeal to everyone but the majority loves it. Obnoxious.....Look around the pool at about 4PM in the afternoon many of the guest are way more obnoxious then Chinos ever is. He is the lead of the staff in front of the guest every day. If he just goes up there and is all laid back no one will join in for anything and it will be just like any other resort, snooze fest. Trust me on that one. Rude........lighten up a little. Sure he is comes off as a little loud and crazy. But remember your coming into his house and he has to perform everyday. I'm sure your much more loud and outgoing around your friends then you are when your around strangers. People have different sides. Tatoos.......I'm not even going to get into that as people do them for all kinds of reason and I'm sure he has his. Basically he is there to entertain. You don't go too a stand up comdey and think the guy on stage is the same guy off stage do you?? Really alot of what he does is nothing more then an act to create an electric atmosphere, entertain, and losing people up. Some might find his humor not to there liking but the majority loves it. You ever sit down with the guy away from it all??? He is very laid back and I'd almost go as far as using the word shy. He is very far removed from the Chinos you see in front of the mic either way. Let's not forget people the people that hate him will be the ones filling out comments cards. So we have to remember to fill them out as well. If the good comments out weigh the bad ones we can keep him around.
Wife and I liked him. He was in town for a "cameo" appearance and it was casino nite and we played at his table. Lots of fun playing there and a lot of tops were lost. I think he adds a bit of diversity to the entertainment staff-look past the tattoos, (I have a few myself), and look at the man. We liked him as did others, We hope he is there when we return in late October. We were there last March. Just our opinion.
Without a doubt, Chinos is the funniest guy we've ever seen in that type situation; truly a gifted entertainer. There are over 100 other resorts in Cancun, and TTR is lucky enough to (once again) have Chinos. He is certainly part of the reason so many repeaters have been so loyal to TTR. No, he won't appeal to everyone; neither does TTR. TTR has its own unique niche in the Cancun market; many (most?) of the other resorts don't have any specific niche. Temptation can't compete on location; it is where it is. The buildings, while nice, are not brand new. Where TTR excels is in fun; it has a unique, sexy atmosphere, which attracts fun guests; at the same time, the wild and crazy time can offend and drive away some guests who, truth be told, might be more comfortable at the Hilton or some other resort anyhow. In a perfect world, the wild and crazy people (like us) would all go to TTR, and the people who are offended could go to any of the other resorts. Chinos used to set the tone, get the party going, get everybody having a good time. No one was anywhere close to him at that. We'll be there October 7-14. We'll have fun regardless, but we sure hope Chinos is there.
We will be back at TTR in about a month and I certainly hope Chinos is there. It will be great to see him again and to feel that old Blue Bay Getaway vibe that we came to love, which Chinos was a huge part of!! I really think part of the reason he is back is because management is feeling the sting of the recession, and they have seen the comment cards letting them know that the entertainment is not what it used to be and that they are bringing him back so he can bring the crowds back! TTR management realizes they need him.
We've been to the quiet pool, its nice it you kill two bottles of vodka (lots of chi-chis). Then again I really don't remember it, d#%& those two bottles of vodka or maybe bless them I have to agree with norm&ginny, Chinos is a freak but that is the reason that we all love him!!!
We are glad he is back, we miss the old staff. However the first time we met him it was like OMG! Now we watch the other staff try to copy him. Cal
