We've been living here for almost ten months. Nothing has occurred to make us feel unsafe. No one has ever approached us in any way that seemed threatening. We don't have a car so we're often walking on the streets, or taking cabs, at night. Never had a problem while walking, never had a problem with any of the cabs, either. It would be unfortunate to let fear of something happening keep you from coming and having a good time. Quoting Rivergirl, from another thread: You'll be alright.
