i can honestly say the only illness ive had attr was self induced!! try as i might i am not a seasoned drinker!! i drink the restaurant water the whole time im there. i have a gut of stone. except overdrinking. i think its more of things that individuals are succeptible too. I know if i spend as much time in the pool as monique does my skin would be raw!! so im all for putting on my party hat, and send good vibes that noone has to worry about the nasty flu.
I did not even address this which is not the FLU. I get this more times than I wish but I still love it there. I do not blame resort. Do you bring Cipro with you? If not, either seek my hubby the Pharmacist out or ask the gift shop for some ciprophloxin. Sometimes they understand.....
Been here for going on 9 years and never had the flu, nor have my wife or two kids. Chances of getting the flu when here for a week ??? - not very high I'd guess. Doctors in the UK recommend shots for Tetanus, Typhoid and Hepatitis A when traveling to Mexico. It always surprises me that folks from the US dont seem to bother with these.
Me too! If everyone had this "I'm not having a shot because we don't know of the consequences 15 years down the line" attitude, we'd all have Smallpox. :daisy:
Smallpox is a deadly disease with no cure. It was eradicated sometime in the 70's. It was a one time shot, not something you put in your body every single Fall. What gets you sick is not the actual virus but the condition of your immune system. In other words, a weak immune system is what may let you catch the flu. The flu shot is full of dangerous chemicals that I choose not to put in my body every Fall. Virus strains are bred in eggs, sheep guts, monkey brains, etc. Manufacturers have to use potent preservatives to prevent bacteria or fungus from contaminating the vaccine. It is also manufactured a year in advance so they guess which strain is going to strike the next flu season. Even when the CDC gets it wrong (like this year), they still pushed everyone to get it. (Can you say $$$$?) Only about 40% of practitioners and nurses (and Pharmacists) get the shot but about 100% push it. Hmmm.... Ok, I am done. It's a choice. I choose to be healthy, make wise food choices, exercise and take vitamins.
