I honestly can't remember if we have had to at TTR or not, but every hotel I stay at in the US requires a card at check in - even if the room has been pre-paid. I wouldn't be worried to allow them to if I was asked - it's pretty much standard procedure.
When I've booked directly with the hotel, they do want the CC imprint, but when I've booked through someone else, they haven't asked for one.
We were there 2 weeks ago & never showed a credit card until checkout. No cash deposit either. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
I emailed the resort to see what they said and here was the answer: Hello Receive warm greetings from Temptation Resort! Based on your kind email let me inform you we don’t need to swipe your credit or debit card, and we won’t charge you any deposit at check-in, we accept VISA and MASTER CARDS debit cards for incidentals, also cash.
