Well, it's not really as impressive as it might appear. This year we have stayed about 8 times for a total of 10 nights A $10 taxi fare to get there helps. Long gone are the days (before kids) when we went 2 or 3 times a year for 2 or 3 weeks at a time. Our first trip was in 2000.
Instead of ordering the Surf & Turf at Bellavista, I ordered the Turf & Turf because I don't like shrimp. One night I actually ate two orders of Turf & Turf, but my glaucoma was acting up that night, so that may have had something to do with it. :bandit: Here is the Surf & Turf which Kristin usually ordered (with 4 pieces of decent sized shrimp):
The only two restaurants that take reservations are the italian & the asian restaurants. And you can make reservations for those up to 3 days in advance... The reservations are taken inside of the Seafood restaurant at 10am everyday. And if you aren't dead set on the restaurant, sometimes you can walk up to the asian or italian place and ask if they have a table available... Worst they do is say no and you go for seafood, tex mex, or buffet... Or wait for the amazing 3am burger at Paty O's I know that glaucoma feeling... Last trip mine was fine, but i'm thinking our next trip its going to give me some issues.. :bandit:
one-time TTR's for laurie and I. no incidental charge for us to my knowledge. kept cash close to us (bunch of fives and ones for sure). Left extra in safe and only carried small amounts in cargo pocket on swimtrunks. Only used card couple of times downtown when shopping. Won't do that next yr. Will take some cash to banco and buy pesos to shop with. Better deals that way and kinda like the shopping with local $ flavor.....
