We fly Spirit out of Detroit to Ft Lauterdale then to Cancun but the flight number is the same so I'm assuming that we won't even get off the plane (1 hr lay-over). Hopefully we won't run into the same problem. We do change planes on the way back, but I don't care much if we get delayed in Fla. One day less of the cold weather might be a good thing. Sorry about your delay. Have you contacted your ground transport from the Cancun airport to the hotel? Let them know you will be coming tomorrow.
Hey I just got back from Temptation and I flew Spirit and it was terrible going and coming back. I flew from Laguardia to fort lauderdale. The plane from Lagurdia to ft lauderdale was late and the plane left. They had no more planes going to cancun that day. They put us in a hotel and gave us vocuhers to eat. It was a mess!!!! Coming back, we had to connect to ft lauderdale again and it took forever to get through immagration we almost missed my flight. We made it by 2 minutes. But here's the kicker, our luggage never made it!!!!! So they have to mail it to us!!!!I hope your flight is better than ours!!
Laguardia stinks - that's why we did it for 6:45 am. trying to beat the rush and delays. On the way back - it's the same plane for both legs....but I guess the bags come out for immigration and then back in at Fort Lauderdale...unless they do that at laguardia but I don't think it's an international airport. oh well. as long as i get there on sunday!!!!
Ours were the same plane going back also. once you reach Ft lauderdale, you have to get off and go through immagration and customs, pick up your bag, and go back through security and catch your flight back to ny. It sucks. Hope all goes well for u!!!!! Enjoy!!
I have opted not to use LaGuardia unless I really have to, Never had an issue with JFK but I have been using Newark the last few trips to Mexico, everything has been direct flights and flawless so far
