WTF is an EYE PAD? Is that one of those things that lets you block one eye while you peek through a key hole?
Our local radio station still has the same playlist from when I grew up in the 70's. My boss chooses the 80's mix on sky.fm everyday. I'm not denying there wasn't some stellar music but I look forward to new tunes on vacation. Get some new blood in my system, ya know?
I'm not that old, but still 95% of my music play list is pre-2002! What the hell, go with what you like. It's a nice change going to TTR and hearing some new stuff, compared to my same old playlist back home. I guess my one gripe with a lot of modern music is that artists don't really have to try that hard to make a great record any more. They can sing into an auto-tune machine, then get a sound engineer to make a tune around it. Yes this marketing to make music has been around for a while, but there were still a lot of bands that sat around smoky recording studios jamming until they came up with something awesome. For example, back in the early 2000s, Maroon 5 pretty much sounded like an original band that did all their own stuff. Flash forward 10 years and now they're releasing crap that has been engineered within an inch of its life! There are some really cool things happening within some genres though right now. The introduction of Itunes and downloadable music is a winner for the small independent artists.
