I got back from TTR this past Thursday & I am still recovering. My boyfriend & I came back so sick. I had to be taken to urgent care because I felt like I wanted to pass out when I got home. Dr. said it is just the flu & can take up to 3 weeks to fully recover. I was experiencing flu like symptoms with a really bad cough. Last year we didn't get sick at all. Thank goodness it came on our last day of our trip getting ready to head home. I am only 70% better so far but my body is still so weak.
Some people are more susceptible to illness caused by micro this and thats and some people get grossed out more easily than others. Luckily i'm not one of those people. I have changed a few baby diapers that made me gag though; i gagged a little just typing that Unless i see a baby ruth floating in the water i'm sure it won't bother me. Well someone throwing up next to me will probably get me out of the water for a bit too so i hope that doesn't happen. I see people wiping down everything on planes, shopping carts, and tables at restaurants a lot more in recent years. Soon everyone will just walk around in bubbles and wear hepa filters on their heads. Seems silly to me.
Mrs. team is finally fully recovered...she went in to see a "travel doctor" last week who specializes in tropical diseases and he said the odds are that at some point you're probably going to catch something down there. All it took this time was an antibiotic (Z-Pak/Zithromax) and a lot of fluids...she said it was about the worse she's ever felt. The doctor said next time just contact them ahead of time and they'll prescribe antibiotics to take with (just in case)...
I think u can get antibiotics OTC at pharmacy in cancun. .. maybe even across the street from TTR? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Yeah you can...but this way we'll just have them with us ahead of time. We would've picked up a Z-Pak down there but she didn't really get sick until the flight home...
Good to know! Although hopefully I won't need to see them ... LOL Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
