if you are looking for a hotel before your flight in Toronto

I find hotels.com usually has good last minute rates by the airport for when we decide to get a room for some friends fun with like a day or two booking before like $50-$60 and they offer shuttle service to the airport

 

18hr flight delay going because crew was 1 hour late arriving , putting them over there allotted daily air time ,( they sent them to a hotel to sleep it off) , and they didn't have a replacement crew,, then on the way back a 12 hour delay due to mechanical problems. They gave us food vouchers but the restaurants , were closed and the bars would not take them for drinks.

I knew before booking they had the Worst , on time departure stats of any CDN airline,( 48% ), but i did not know the customer service was so bad , and the compensation ( 150) was a joke since we got to our pre packaged dest , 1 day late. ( and they booked the wrong room category we picked)

Good luck with that early flight on Sunwing. Most get cancelled for a later flight.
Sorry I would pay a couple of hundred more to fly with someone else. Just for the record Im a travel agent.

 

Price is very good though, never could get that deal from sunwing in May, usually we go through Alpharooms and book air through westjet or AC, for around $1200 ea, Sunwing wanted like $1000 more. I do hear horror stories from Sunwing, but my parents had no problems with them to cuba the last two years. Hit and miss I guess.

 

I threw away those vouchers they gave me ( 2x 150) cold day in hell before I get on one of those planes again.

Some travel companies make you sign a waiver before booking them ( was that you ? )

 

Yeh that was me. That waiver makes people second guess there choice.

 

Sunwing does have a bad reputation for delays and losing things. We usually fly in with Transat or Nolitours (same company) You also have to remember that operators such as Sunwing, Transat, WestJet and so on bargin for a set amount of rooms at a certain price, the cheaper it is could also could mean your are getting a less desirable location on the resort depending what the deal was when made with the travel company.

 

Yep, Sunwing is very bad. We got delayed 2 out of 4 times (by a meaningful number, like 6 hours...). Unfortunately for our October trip this year, it was the only direct flight option we had unless paying 400$ more pp on a already very costly trip for 7 days.

So we decided to book with Sunwing, cross our fingers and schedule a Boobs Cruise!

 

Well We have never used them so I can't pass judgement on anyone until I have personally experienced it for myself so until Sunwing gives me a reason to crap on their service I will give them the benefit of having a clean slate of which to work with... plus we will just find somewhere in the airport to go have some adult fun to kill some time lol

 

we have flown with sunwing before and it was a great flight .. i have a friend that is a flight attendant with them so we got friends and family access ..saves about $50pp..not much .. i never knew they had such a bad rep..i messaged my friend last night and she is gonna book to work on my flight and if she doesnt get it she will let the crew know we are on it so we are looked after :daveandmo: so lets hope for no drama ..
