The amount of taxes a person has to pay on April 15th is dependent on many factors two fo which are a person's income level and number of deductions as well as the number of dependent's claimed. So 2 people who earn basically the same income can end up paying quite different taxes bills because the factors used to determine a person's tax liabilty are quite different. I'd venture to say that the person who signed the tax ticket for Greta has more deductions than Greta does and most likely claims more dependents. her tax liability woudl therefore be quite different. Sounds like both Greta and this person made out alright...Greta doesn't have to fork over that money in taxes and the person who claimed the ticket most likely has enough deductions/dependents that the extra $8000 income doesn't affect her final tax liability for the year. And we don't have VAT here.
ahhhh.... Cheetah's. If you're talking about the fine establishment 500 kms to my west, I'm sorry to say it no longer exists.
Dont think its the same one that we just happen to have stumbled into to ask for directions to the stratosphere then eventualy managing to find the exit...... six hours later...... BE CAREFUL WITH LINK IF AT WORK OR HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN THE AREA, THIS INCLUDES YOU FLETCH   http://www.cheetahsnv.com/ Ian
If I added all the taxes I'd have to pay on money one so far this lifetime, I'd be way ahead of the game if I paid a 50% tax on my winnings, and lower US income tax...
Congrats Greta! It couldnt have happened to a nicer person. Now, get down the Casino and put it all on red!
