Being a life-long ice cream addict as well as one who tries to stay in shape, I understand the seriousness of this. About 2 years ago, I concocted a simple substitute that actually satisfies the ice cream craving and is reasonably healthy. Buy a bag of frozen mixed berries. Pour some in a bowl (frozen) and sprinkle with no calorie sweetener. Cover with fat free half and half and stir until the half and half freezes. It tastes as good as most ice cream! It is acutall zero points in Weight Watchers! Sam
I do that with plain yogurt. put fresh or frozen fruit in a bowl and add yogurt, yumm! a dash of vanilla extract works for phillip.
I do the yogurt but never add the sweetener - like THAT would be cheating lol I just wait until I can't take it any more and eat 1/2 of a half gallon in one sitting...I mean...I didn't do that!!! It was 1/2 the fat!!! ....Damn it... I did really do that and, yes, my logic even baffles me. On day I will not be so nuts...I hope!
