This stinks. Life isn't fair. Definitely feel for you. Clearly no one is going to take ownership of the issue and if they don't have any rooms they don't have any rooms. I would talk to the management you are in contact with (hopefully you have been talking to the front desk or guest services manager, forget what they call it these days) and shift from who is to blame to what TTR can do for you to make a long time loyal highly disappointed customer happy. Turn this thing constructive. Request that they put you at the top of the wait list for a cancellation. State you will be in town on the nights you will be in town and that you would be willing to accept 1 to many of your nights. Maybe then they would have a cancellation and you would have first opportunity at the room? And you could then show book it that they were able to squeeze you in and obtain reimbursement. If the reimbursement part doesn't work well then it may be worth sucking up the extra to get a night or two in TTR with your friends. Worth a shot as it is something TTR could definitely do if you talk to the right person and ask nicely
A classic he said, she said. And following up a bit on Jen and Kyle's post, I would try to get something from both parties showing the cancellation. Only one of TTR and Book It can be telling the truth. If you can figure out which one, then you can try to lean on that one for compensation or "what can you do for me"
So sorry for your travel problems. We all look forward to are trips to TTR and to have this happen sucks. One thing I learned from living and traveling in Mexico. I always call ahead and confirm reservations with any Mexican hotels before my trip even if I have a confirmation. We just returned from a March trip that we booked last October. My wife called twice to confirm our reservation. Can still get burned though. Were you able to speak with management at TTR ?
That's a huge bunch of shit, probably would have been better off if there wasn't an official cancellation, and you showed up and either they ended up having a room, or had to bump you to Desire. Seems like Bookit canceling it was like a cover their ass ahead of time, and maybe TTR never accepted a payment from them. If TTR took a payment from Bookit back in November, then you would figure it would been accounted for on their books. Restlings picture does look pretty sweet, hopefully you get lucky and there is other party people at GP that week, and then it will all be fine. What happened to them offering that Secrets property? I think those places are like double the price of TTR
We stayed at GP last sept for our honeymoon and visited TTR after the Boobs Cruise for a few hours. GP has a beautiful beach, and view. Demand to get ocean view 3rd floor or higher as has been said. The party there is what you make it. It isn't TTR but it is topless optional. We were doing body shots at the tiki bar almost every night. If Fonzy is at the tiki it will be fun. The pool is Very quiet after 11p.m. so it's a good spot for a little fun after midnight. Oscar is a great waiter in the main restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
We enjoyed our stay at GP a few years ago. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the staff is awesome! The tiki bar is fun at night, however it is not the same atmosphere as TTR but still fun
My take on this I GLENN ALWAYS PUT THEM IN THE SPOT AND TELL THEM WHAT WILL YOU DO FOR ME. DONT LOOK FOR BLAME BUT RESULTS USUALLY GET RESULTS FROM BOTH SIDES .
