Who cares? It's Cancun! I'd rather get a room at the Maria de Lourdes downtown for $50 a night anyways, myself. It's just a place to store my stuff, sleep, and take a shower. The beach, clubs, etc. are just a bus ride away.
(BTW, I'm guessing on that room price... I had paid $30 a night there in low season.)
