We will hopefully be booking at DRM for the first time in 9/2017. Should we get travel insurance in case of a hurricane? We live in a coastal part of the US and can experience storms here too, and we most likely wouldn't head out of town if a storm was going to hit near home.

I would get travel insurance not just for the storms but more for if there is a medical emergency, I recommend getting primary vs secondary insurance.

Travel insurance is always a good idea, especially for medical reasons.

September and October is peak Hurricane season, although the last big one that hit was way back in 2005
