Yeah its pretty bad lol. I have a "history" because I posted a thread saying the Entertainment team appeared lacking. Apparently, no one is allowed to make any comments that are perceived to be negative. Some very defensive people on here. They actually had to shut down the thread after people were making implications of "beating me up".
I feel that way after reading the full article on CNN lol. I didn't realize it was Cabo versus Cancun lol.
Ha, there's a few things going on here and some of them are quite funny. The original post was completely non controversial and even someone as cynical and jaded as me is having a hard time seeing what the heck was bad about it even taking the perceived view that he's been negative in the past (which I'm not sure I totally agree with either). North Americans and US friends in particular don't always have a great grasp on geography (no offense, honest), I think we've all seen Facebook posts about how bad students today are naming places on a map. It's OK for someone to make a mistake, it's what we humans do. I've been guilty of being defensive of TTR in the past as much as anyone. I love this place and I'm willing to overlook the deficits others might see and not be as chill about. It's not going to be everything for everyone and people are entitled to their opinions and they won't always be the same as yours. It's especially true on a site that pumps it up as much as we do here, you'd think it was nirvana.... ok it kinda is Bottom line is we could all learn to treat people with respect and be more friendly to them when we are discussing one of the most fun, friendliest places I've ever been to based on my experiences there and the wonderful people I've met. Oh and Float, (s)he's kinda right there lol
I am relatively good at geography, including knowing the difference between Cabo and Cancun. Unfortunately, I was too impatient to read the full article on CNN. Just assumed it was Cancun lol Kinda made myself look dumb lol. Sorry about that everyone.
Perhaps you should read the entire article before jumping to post a question. Just because it may say hurricane hits Mexico it does not mean that it hit Cancun. There is more to Mexico than Cancun.

When it is not readily apparent who the poster is and the criticism was so far out of line, I thought it an appropriate response. :icon_razz: If it was meant as a joke and not your opinion but a copied post, and you love TTR so much, I would just make sure that I was not to be blamed for the criticism. :xyxthumbs: Most post have some criticisms, such as PatyO's need for some fans, pool too warm in the summer afternoon, etc etc,etc. But your post that was copied was a total run down of the place, totally out of line and had no indication that it was from TA and reposted. You look like you took total responsibility for making the remarks. I see now that you were not. My bad! However, not everyone camps on this site or pays a whole lot of attention to how many post someone has. No matter, understand that you love TTR as the rest do and if they do not, they will go away soon! Onward and upward!! Drink hearty and just have fun. This is getting old already!
Actually, no one was threatening to "beat you up". Had you read and understood the analogy given, you would understand this. The analogy was about a guy who was always being smacked in school because he had to h ave the last word on everything ( going from memory here, and cant be bothered to go look) , he was befreinded, and low and behold, little johnny ( or what ever his name was) even did that to his friends, so he got smacked for it. had to have the last word, and belittled everyone. No threat, just basically said you were little johnny.
