Dolly was nothing She never actually reached hurricane status, just a tropical storm when she passed through 24 hrs ago. Still getting some heavy rain but there never was any strong winds and now Dolly is way out in the Gulf and moving further away all the time. Zero damage, no evacuations, limited localised temporary flooding of streets downtown when the storm sewers were overwhelmed but nothing more. Tomorrow I expect we'll see some sun again and then Wednesday back to same old same old hot as Hades! Nothing to worry about at all.
I dont follow the news much so this is the first I heard of "Dolly". I am glad all is well and everyone is safe down there in Cancun. Hopefully "Dolly" will NEVER reach hurricane status and leave the rest of the world safe too!
I was the there when it came,it was our last nite there. first I heard of it was when we were at the sexy pool and they started taking in all the pool chairs and chinos said "turn around you fuckers and look, there is a trpoical storm coming so go to your rooms and put on channel 12". It rained and blew pretty hard, and that nite was supposed to be a dj set up at paty O's for the nite, everything got moved inside to the alternative bar, needless to say it got very HOT in there, so we did what any responsible adults would under these circumstances....... we ran to the beach in the middle of the storm and went skinny dipping!!!! :lightning:
OK - so I go away to the south of the UK to visit my family and the minute my back is turned a bloody hurricaine thinks its gonna get smart and give me the fright of my life!! Only kidding - I'm very glad Dolly behaved and wasnt too bad for Cancun. However theres another dodgy looking weather system forming way out in the tropics that could develop and cause problems. We are reaching the 'peak' of the season I guess!! Lets hope Cancun (or anyone else for that matter) escapes from any major damage! Max xxxxx
again this year, I am with you Max!!!! no hurricanes!!! no storms, no nothin. But you know I will be watching the whole time until we leave...
