I bought a package for magnets for a dollar at the the dollar store, if people are not otherwise going to the hardware store.

You sound just like my husband, grousing about our August 2020 Disney World trip LOL

Disney in August that's just sadistic. Not sure I would do that even for a TTR trip.

We actually taped the in room coasters over the light. Lol.

Also, we do the same with the magnets. Hearing the sounds of the resort and feeling the wind is wonderful.

I’ve made a note of the streamers. That’s been our biggest complaint, the AC turning off in the middle of the night.

So you guys just tape streamers to the ceiling so they hang down in front of the AC? Trying to get a visual.

There is a sensor that registers movement. Sort of like a lot of bathrooms in commercial buildings now have. When it registers now movement it goes to a alternate temperature. By hanging something that moves near it the thermostat thinks the room is occupied and says at the temp you set on the thermostat. In the tower I think they are on the ceiling. I would think the same in the other rooms but they could be in the thermostat themselves. Usually there recognized by a opaque cover on only a inch or so in diameter. There in almost all hotels now.

We used Damprid at a friend's suggestion before our last trip (to DR which was far more humid and musty smelling than TTR has ever been). Brought 2 containers. Put one in closet and one by sink right when we got unpacked. By the time we got back to the room that night and damp smell was nearly 100% gone and stayed that way the whole week. We'll be bringing them every time for now on.

We always keep the balcony door closed, It helps to control the humidity. We hate it but thats just part of the weather in Cancun. First trip we had the door open all the time and the floor became an Ice Rink!!! LOL lesson learned.
