There is that other thread on the water, too. Same answer here. I've had no problem 5x times at TTR with the water, but I don't ever actually drink that tapwater, though I've never hesitated to drink the frozen drinks or mixed drinks made with it. And, we rince the toothbrushes in it, too.
Well, we started the thread on DON't DRINK THE TAP WATER. It has been out 5th trip as well and am surprised at how people can think it is ok after our water was YELLOW! We were told it is purified but sorry...we LOVE TTR and are NOT dissing it. We highly recommend not drinking or brushing. Use the bottled water.
Problem is, people really shouldn't drink tap water almost anywhere any longer, though it's technically "safe" in the antimicrobial sense in almost every place in the states, it can still get ya with all the hard metal pollutants in it. That brown water is coming from old rusty pipes, most like. Saw that myself this past trip to TTR. But, let it run for a minute or two and it cleared up. Like most buildings older than a couple of years, the pipes need flushing at the minimum, and replacing the entire system at the extreme. Problem with that would be TTR would need to close for about a month, and nobody wants that. I'm with you in the end. Drink bottled water.
I'm really confused why everyone thinks drinking tap water is a problem, but don't have a problem with the ice. It's all the same purified water. Sure it probably goes through different piping and will have different minerals/metals in it, but it's all safe. It might taste a little different, but the water on the resort is safe (ok maybe not the toilet or pool water). Something like 70% of the bottled water you buy in the U.S. is tap water from the U.S. I think way to many people think bottled water is cleaner than U.S. tap water when it's actually the same. Ok, I'm done ranting...
I have been brushing my teeth and drinking a little of this Afghan water and I'm still kicking, so Mexico water will be an upgrade.....looking forward to it.
