Yep we always tell them we have been there before and have already done it. We have never been through the pitch lol
Be polite but firm and let them know you are not interested, they usually drop it pretty quick. Please remember these are hard working people just doing their jobs. I know most people are polite but you sometimes see the odd person who has come off of a long flight, is hot, tired and just looking for the party and they can be a bit abrupt with them. We just tell them we've been many times and did the presentation on our last trip. This time we're on a referral so we have to do it but with the Canadian dollar where it is I think they'll understand us not being interested. Hey, there you go, just tell them you're Canadian and our dollar sucks, maybe then they'll leave you alone lol
The membership is not for everyone, that has been discussed on here many times. It needs to work for you both financially, life stage and vacation lifestyle. Calling it a scam is a little unfair. There are many of us on here that are "stupid enough" to make the membership work for our individual situations and save $1000's over booking from a travel site or the hotel directly. We are in our 4th year of our membership and have made up 88% of our initial investment with more then enough years/nights to use remaining. Again, not for everyone but also remember all the employees (including the pushy timeshare people) are just doing their job. If you are not interested a simple no thank you usually works well.
Well said!! There are many members I've talked to who are totally happy with their commitment...and others who wind up with buyer's remorse. That's true with many purchases and investments we all make in our lives. I'm always polite three times as I tell them no thank you...telling them I'm a repeat guest and have already sat through a presentation (though I haven't). Once I've said no three times and made it clear...I'm just done talking and I walk away - I'd never dream of beginning the conversation disrespectfully or rudely. I'm in sales, and I know that an initial "no" must be followed up with an open ended question...but three no's is a no sale, whether I'm a buyer or a seller.
So they either don't understand you or just can't be bothered converting to Pounds or Euros? lol See you on the 18th
Unfortunately it is not always that easy. One year I kept saying no thank you. I said it at least 4 times and was polite. After she realized I was not stopping and was heading to the door she said, " well you don't have to be rude!". I found it funny, because she was the one being rude. Anyway.........
Couple of years ago, one of them hounded us all the way to the gift shop. She then rudely said, "OH! So you dont like to save money!?"....to which I replied..."I just did!" Keep walking. Easy.
