bah - I'm with Bell...I'd better check their rates - see if they are different.

Don't forget with calls - you also get charged for Roaming - that's where you really get raped!!!

We are going to try to upgrade temporarily to international blackberry plan and communicate with each other via blackberry messager. Free and unlimited.

    Nextel/Sprint works in Cancun...
2-way (direct connect) works for about $.07 a minute...
phone calls are about $.99 a minute...
you do have to be set up to call out internationally, but I do receive incoming without having to pay extra for international (still $.99 a minute)...
Text does work, but if it's part of your plan, you shouldn't be charged anything extra...

    Verizon works.
    Calls are .99 a minute.
I believe that outgoing texts are .25

Oh yeah, and last year I had Sprint and my boyfriend had Verizon.. now I have Verizon as well.. but, for some reason, he tried to call back to the US and it wouldn't go through so he had to use my phone.. I couldn't get my text messages on Sprint, but I could place calls. He could get texts on Verizon, but couldn't place calls.

Great question by the way. I was going to ask that myself being that I am heading up the late CCers meeting the 21st and I know how fun its going to be to coordinate everybody. I have AT&T so I will check with my provider and see what the costs will be.

Well I'm not bringing my phone at all. Best thing is when you check in... walk up to your phone and write the phone number down and your room number....... and then take it with you to the cancuncare party..... and everyone can exchange phone numbers. If people dont answer just leave messages. I'm pretty sure all local calls are free. Its the long distance ones that are like 40usd a minute lol

that's a good idea - I just wasn't sure if they charged you for local phone use.
