I've just ordered a couple of these and wondered why do the occupants of ' IOWA ' have to pay an extra $1.30 ontop of the $8 fee per map as opposed to nothing for the other occupants of the US ? Ian
Ian, It has to do with state sales tax. Because they are buying it from residents of Iowa the maps are shippd within that state and the buyer has to pay sales tax. Those maps shipped outside the state of Iowa do not.
has anyone got a copy of that taxi zone map, i wouldnt mind having a look. aside from side trips cabs and postcards i didnt think i'd need alot of money. how much are people expecting to spend each day? my package included food, drinks and entry to bars, so what would i need after that? aussies have to multiply your amounts by 2 to work out how much of our play money we will need
Jen's right... You will need tipping money and money for anything you might want to buy...or food (like McD's  ) that you'll eat outside your resort. And you should always have some spare $$$ around just in case of emergency.
To possibly buy huge sombrero to wear on the plane to annoy others  But yeah, do a rough budget then take more - better to have too much than not enough that's for sure.
thanks for the tips guys tipping is still a black art to me thou how r you finding aussie land jenfleur? havin a good time?
Yeha tipping is new to alot of people in MExico I think. I have seen it time and time again. Doesn't kill ya tp throw the bartender or servers some money...
Apart from cricket jibes? LOVING it here big time. It's a great country, I've loved every place I've been to (Darwin, Cairns, Sydney and various places down the East Coast) and everyone I've met has been tops. Still not into calling flip flops 'thongs' though, thongs are g-strings and that's it!!!
