Why the insults? Not all people who smoke are dumb, uninformed, rude, careless, ect. Granted, it wasn't the best choice in the world to start. Im currently quitting. Not for others, but for myself. I have been insured for many years, and im pretty sure I have not come close to the cost of health care as say other people with preventable health related risks. Lets not bash each other. this is a fun forum to talk about good things. not treat each other badly because we don't agree to the same extent as each other.
I wasn't trying to insult anyone, I was attempting to point out that intelligent, informed people (and I include all the posters in this thread) understand smoking and secondhand smoke is bad for you so it's kind of silly to be "debating" something that really has no debate. Like Donald said, smokers have the right to smoke but non-smokers also have the right to healthy air. When the 2 clash it's always the non-smokers who lose out unless the smokers do go to that dark back alley, away from the action. There is no reasonable solution short of a plexiglass barrier (no I don't advocate that either). As the rules change in North America it's more noticeable when you are in a smoker friendly environment. Hell most times I feel odd smoking my vapes in public. I have put my belligerent, ex-smoker soapbox away now, I promise.
latest research said some of the vape cigarettes are worse for your health than regulars. Now what???
e-juice contains at most 5 ingredients (as opposed to the 4000+ that cigarettes do) (Credit to the Project Vape web site for the below info http://www.projectvape.com/what-is-vaping/what-is-ejuice/): VG (Vegetable Glycerin) The Base makes up 80-90% of e-juice and is composed of 100% VG or a mix with PG. Common ratios are 100% VG, 50/50 PG/VG, and 80/20 PG/VG. It is widely used in all types of food and personal care products like toothpaste. PG (Propylene glycol) Commonly mixed with VG as the base for e-juice. This is a solvent that’s used in all sorts of things. Along with being a solvent, its mainly known for its use in fog machines. A higher PG mix e-juice will produce thicker clouds of vapor. However PG can dry out your throat and even cause mild allergic reactions in some users. Flavor 10%-20%. All the e-juice I’ve seen uses Food grade flavorings originally intended for baking or candy making. Here is an excerpt from the LorAnn website: “All of our materials are food grade (where applicable) and adhere to standards set down in the USP, NF or FCC (U.S.Pharmacopoeia, National Formulary, and Food Chemical Codex).” Nicotine 0%-2.4% depending on strength. Any large supplier of e-juice is using pharmaceutical grade pure nicotine. Distilled water is sometimes used to dilute if needed. The story I read (which was a little bit of sensationalist journalism but with a thread of truth) was saying that as the industry is unregulated some products could or may contain harmful ingredients in the flavoring. There are also a few stories floating around regarding people somehow ingesting or absorbing large amounts of nicotine from the e-juice through their skin because they weren't careful or didn't wash their hands after a spill and fell ill from it. Nicotine itself, while addictive, is not harmful unless in quite large amounts and is found in many vegetables. As with anything you should do your own research before using something new.
Not really that, it's the instance of my lady's being totally unable to party it up, which involves her getting mostly or all the way naked and dancing, when in a smoke-rich environment. So... in a manner of speaking... the smoke excludes her, not the other way around. Lots of folks feel that way. I, personally, do not, but mine lovely does and if I'm going to get mine, I gots to do what She Who Must Be Obeyed says. Not trying to stomp anyone's good time flat. But, it'd be REALLY nice if, say, Patyo's at least had some goot ventilation to move the air up and out, that'd take care of the whole thing, right there.
I lost track of this thread while gone but I actually felt that the grill smoke in Paty O's was WAY more over powering than the cigarette smoke but most people there and ALL the people we hung out with were e-cig users (one is actually an e-juice maker - yay, Mike! ). The grill, however, made me feel like I was trying to dance in a Burger King (makes me think of that old Humpty Dance song). Considering there was some discussion about the burgers being changed and some question as to the meat makeup, we may have a bigger chance of cancer from second hand grill smoke! (Ok, now I'm just being stupid but I'm trying to lighten the mood a bit while still passing on some recent experience info - though the first part of that sentence is true. Rome only got one once - and Rome eats a LOT, especially when drinking so that's a bit of a statement. I never had one since everyone we were with commented adversely about the taste/quality. The hot dogs apparently were good - the ones from the grill - get your minds out of the gutter, people!)
