What scottydog said about the reservations.

We have had several rolls, shashimi and negiri. All were very good, but nigiri tuna is our favorite! Sometimes we just make a meal of that.

We would rate the food as ok at best. It can certainly be good after a few drinks, but in comparison to some other resorts it can be a bit lacking.

Our favorites are the seafood and Asian restaurants. We've also had good luck in heading into the buffet right is it opens for lunch, with lots of fresh offerings.

This will be our 5th trip and we have always found that the food is good, maybe not great. But we have never been the type to base a resort in Mexico upon food, even though it is certainly a factor. To be honest, the food at TTR could probably be below average and we wouldn't mind. The unique experience that it offers versus other MX resorts is the big draw for us, so having good food is a huge bonus.

We went December 2024 and the food was good to very good. We didn't think the food was spectacular, although the lamb chops they served Christmas Eve were the exception.

We had Hibachi at Sutra and actually found the food bland. It's like the chef forgot to season the meats. The fried rice was great and the theatrics were terrific. But the chicken, beef and shrimp were less than stellar. We also had dinner one night at Romanza, the Italian place. The food was OK but the service was slow and the waiter was not friendly. On Wild West night (Sunday) they had a BBQ dinner on the beach. We didn't think the food was that great that night, but it was OK. There was grill out by the Sexy Pool one day for lunch. We were excited because there were crab legs offered. Too bad they didn't provide anything to help break open the shells so we weren't able to really eat any of it.

We had the rest of our meals, morning, noon and night, at the buffet. The buffet was great and the daytime servers were excellent.
