hands down is deff a 3 am paty o's burger lol !!!! we enjoy all of the restaurants and never really had any issues. the only time we eat outside the resort is while over on the Isla Mujeres.
I look forward to the section of different Mexican dishes for the breakfast buffet. I do love pancakes, French toast, etc. but I can get that any time. But tamales and pozole for breakfast coats the stomach and is damn tasty, too. Lunch is always just something somewhere to soak up shots and beer. For dinner, my favorite thing to eat is the tempura shrimp at the Asian restaurant. Last year, I asked for that as my meal and was pleased when they brought out a platter, and I'm not a seafood fan.
Just don't go expecting to get any good mexican food (save maybe some mentioned for breakfast). It's actually strange how lacking it is in terms of legit mexican food, you would think Margaritas would have that covered, but nope.
TTR is not a 5 start resort so what do you expect. If you want 5 star food then go to a 5 star resort. After the 4th day last year at TTR I was sick of the food. It is not bad but it is not greatest. That is just my opinion. If you want authentic Mexican food than you have have to go downtown for it. Overall I had the time of my life at TTR & can not wait to go back. ______________ Next TTR Trip: May 30th - June 4th 2015
For a wedding I stayed at the Hyatt Zilara, a 4 1/2 Star and #2 ranked hotel in Cancun on Tripadvisor. Worst food ever on any trip anywhere my whole life and im the least picky eater ever. Grew up poor and ive had better government cheese sandwiches and ramen noodles than what they had there. By day 3 I was leaving the resort and paying for food at restaurants and the corner store daily. Never had a issue with the food at TTR, it keeps you fed and surprisingly some things are extremely good. Never had a bad meal
Every restaurant has something unique and good to eat. Never had a problem going hungry. We hit the buffet for breakfast, out to the pool for the rest of the day, and a different restaurant each night. Get you reservations when you arrive.
A weird thing I've found is that the worse something looks on the buffet, the better it probably tastes. The fish is always fresh and very good. I've loved everything from the grill, and the meat they carve on Brazilian night is great. We rarely bother with restaurants and I've never been bored or hungry.
