So based on peoples experiences, should I assume a $100 slid across the check in desk would get us a suite upgrade?
Back in 05 me and my GF at the time were at a bus stop waiting to go back to are hotel from the clubs..No one was around so I lit up a joint..30 seconds later up pulls a cop. They get out and say something in spanish and start to smell my fingers, luckily I threw the joint as I saw them driving up are way, anyways they look as if they are about to arrest me so I pull out $40 ($20 for each cop) give it to them and they get in there car and leave...point is getting out of jail would have cost me a lot more than that and yes when im in Cancun I now smoke in the privacy of my room
Regarding the drug laws, I thought they had decriminalized small amounts? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/21/world/americas/21mexico.html
I crumpled up a $100 bill and threw it today, it went 18'6" I didnt think that was very far so... I crumpled up a $1 bill and threw it... and would you beleive it went 22'8" So in the end a $1 bill will go approximatly 4'2" further than a $100 bill. :angel1:
All this talk about tipping or bribing at check in has just made me think that we have never tipped Norma at the VIp check in and she has done so much for us, gee we need to make up for it this year!!
The police pulled us over several years ago in a cab, saying that one of us had disrespected them. They said for$100 it would be forgiven. Being somewhat drunk, and a complete idiot, I said no way. Luckily one of the other people in the cab talked them down to $50 and paid it, as I am too stupid to keep myself out of trouble.
Your story reminded me of a mom we meet there that brought her 2 daughters with her, we went on the Friday night Booze Cruse with them, we went back on the bus, but she and her daughters decided to stay and party in the party zone . To make a long story short the daughters got drunk and threw up in the taxi coming back. The taxi cab driver told them they had to pay 100 bucks for clean up or he would call the police and have them put in jail, she paid the100 bucks.
On my last trip I made a reservation by emailing the restaurant as it was my friend’s birthday on the day we arrived and I wanted to surprise her with a nice dinner and they were happy to accommodate me.
