I second this thought.... employees caught accepting bribes have been fired on the spot in the past. There are cameras everywhere watching them. Thinks like getting a bottle from a bartender rather than a drink got a bartender fired a couple of months ago. So yeah, people have given bribes and gotten extra. And people have just asked nicely and worked with the staff and gotten bettter. By all means tip and over tip, but please don't bribe cause I really like a lot of the folks that work there and like to see them still working there. Jamie
Interesting discussion. I would have given my $20 upon check-in regardless. Is that a tip or a bribe? I certainly don't want to cause anyone any difficulty. Isn't the line between tip and bribe very fine? Last trip, we were on our patio during a rain storm. The bartender from the quiet pool bar brought us drinks. We gave him $20. Tip or a bribe?
Bartender first... tip... doing their job with a little extra. Frontdesk... that's harder... if you had given the money after you got a great room then i would say tip. Giving it before, bribe. And that's the one I have the hardest time with. If folks walk up to the counter and slide a 20 across it as they check in, they get the good rooms. And if you don't you get the left over rooms. So it's now getting to the point in order not to get a shitty room, you have to slide the "extra" payment across the counter. And that gets to Steve's comment. Jamie
How much tip to get into a restaurant???? Seems they are always booked and we only go for a few days...
